A+

Hi Dave, Magic Water is the best. The lake on my HO layout has become a focal point. Magic Water was easy to apply, there was no mess to deal with, and the final outcome deserves an A+. My many thanks and appreciation to you. Tim - Colorado Springs CO

EXTREME DISSATISFACTION

Letter received March 5th, 2012

Attn: Quality Manager,

Let me take this opportunity to express my EXTREME dissatisfaction with your "Magic Water" product.  I thoroughly mixed the two components per your directions in a clean stainless stell container.  I poured it into the area and have now waited 4 days with no signs of adequate cure.  I work with two part mixes every day.  I am familiar with the intricacies of such.  This product is not going to cure out.  The ambient temp is 68 deg F.  The relative humidity is 55%.  These are optimum curing conditions.  No structuring has taken place.  All that HAS occurred is that your product has made a mess out my layout.  I wish there was a way to recoup the time, expense and frustration that I will be experiencing in the next few weeks.  I do plan on telling as many people as possible in any number of ways about the poor product and my experiences with it.

Dave's response:

3/5/12 Phoned his work number and left a voicemail message and then followed up with this email at his work address:

Hi Bill.  I left you a phone message today in response to the letter you wrote me.

If the product has not set and it was mixed 1 part "A", to 2 parts "B", then it was not mixed thoroughly.  This has happened in the past, which is why I have put an update in every box as well as on my website, reiterating the importance of a complete mix.

It has been an easy fix from the start as I mentioned in my message.  A thin pour over the existing pour takes care of it.  No need to dig out the "soft" pour.

As I said on the phone you are the second person to get mad at me in 6 & 1/2 years of Magic Water business.  The first had a leak.  If you dont have enough product to do the fix, let me know and I will send you some.

Bottom line,  The product does work as anyone who had used it will testify, and anyone who has had a problem has been treated with respect, courtesy, and satisfaction.

Looking forward to your response.

Sincerely,

Dave Williams

Note: As of today 4/2/12 I have not heard back from him.  I put my contact info in the box for a reason: please pick up the phone and call me if you are having difficulty or need help!

"Unqualified Success"

The "pond pour" on my 7 yr. old grandson's new layout went off without a hitch........an unqualified success!!
"Thank You" for excellent instructions, excellent product, and excellent service.

Eagle river

mw-2

Dave, here is the photo of Eagle River, This is the river that I poured for the symposium in Elkhart, Indiana, in the spring.
One of "my" secrets that I do, to make a rapid flowing river look good, is after I have textured the surface with Woodland Scenecs Water Effects, is to mix a small
amount of Magic Water and paint the entire surface with a small brush......."3 TIMES". It adds another week of time but worth the effort. This softens the 'ripples' that were teased into shape and blends the lines of the textured surface with the smooth flat edges of the river. As you can see in this photo, about half way down on the right side you will see a seamless blend of the ripples to the smooth flat still water, and yet gives the flat water a slight churning look. This also helps by bringing the
water right up to the edges of the rocks that are applied to the surface and sealing under and around each rock. By applying the rocks to the surface of the water it keeps the water from "wicking" up the sides and creating a fillet or radius of water. Painting the last couple of coats, puts the material on the surface so thin that it will not wick, giving a very detailed surface and no filled in corners or radius.

I just haven't gotten around to sending this, the spring has been one of the busiest in years.

Your product amazed so many people there, and my clinic was a complete success, everybody loved the river and so many wanted to know what I used.

Here is a shot looking up stream. There are two abutments for a through truss bridge on the gravel road.

Thanks for your contribution to the hobby.

She is right!

Dave
Recieved my 'magic water' and have just used it.
I am building my EIGHTH model railway and as I've never found any satisfactory way of constructing a river, I've never had one - until now !

Typical of me, my river feature is eighteen feet long and runs right down one side of the layout. My wife thought I was mad to go for something so big when I've never done one before, but even she says it looks fantastic now its finished and puts it all down to your product - no word of praise for my skills - but that's what wives do isn't it !
Having said that, she IS right, your product is superb, so much so that my prospective son-in-law, who is another keen railway modeller (my daughter's no mug, picking a prospective husband who instantly pleases her dad) is now planning a water feature on his new layout.
Thanks for your product and I'm glad I found you

Awe!some

Hi Dave..I just wanted to tell you thank you so very much!  This stuff was/is AWESOME!  My son had so much fun doing his little project for school and it was a big hit!  He made 4 little “lakes” from Paul Bunyan’s footprints and they turned out pretty neat for a 11 year old doing it!  His Paul Bunyan was hilarious!  Thank you again so very much!

It's The Best

Hey Dave...
just saying hello and telling you I still love my Magic Water...nothing on the market compares to your product...I have some dioramas that have set in my garage for 2 years...through 100 degree to 20 degree weather...I swear...they still look like the day I made them...no yellowing...no shrinking...no cracking...no discoloring...nothing...perfect just like the day I made them...when I wanna take pics...I wipe off the water area with a wet clothe...it's so hard you just can't hurt it...anyway...I just did this little bridge/canoe scene and am sending you some pics...hope all is well...thanks for the great product...it's the best...regards...Michael Miller
